Detection of marine aerosols using ocean colour sensors

چکیده

Ocean colour sensors are equipped with atmospheric correction bands operating in the near infrared region of spectrum. At these wavelengths, ocean surface, because high absorption by water, acts as a dark background and sensor detected radiance is due to solar radiation backscattered air molecules aerosols called Rayleigh aerosol path radiances respectively. From bands, after accounting for radiance, it possible determine parameters like optical depth (AOD) particle size distribution index. 
 While IRS P3 MOS-B, P4 OCM, NOAA-AVHRR, etc detect AOD total column, MOS-A can two layers exploiting differential property oxygen at four narrow band channels O2 A around 760nm. The method determination from results P4-OCM data presented discussed.
